Homemade Enchilada Sauce

You will never buy another can or packet of prefab enchilada mix after trying this delicious and Simple recipe. Make your own homemade enchilada sauce one of the best you'll ever taste! I tried a few recipes from the internet and decided one of my favorites is cookieandkate.com recipe. I prefer and love using chicken broth!

Ingredients:

  1. 3 Tablespoon olive oil

  2. 3 Tablespoons flour

  3. 1 Tablespoon ground chili powder

  4. 1 Teaspoon garlic powder

  5. 1 Teaspoon ground cumin

  6. 1/4 Teaspoon dried oregano

  7. 1/4 Teaspoon sea salt

  8. 1/8 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

  9. Fresh ground black pepper, to taste

  10. 2 cup chicken or veggie broth

  11. 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Step 1:

  1. Reserving flour, mix remaining dry ingredients in a separate bowl, set aside

Step 2:

  1. On medium heat in a medium sauce pan add olive oil and flour, whisk together, add dry ingredients then broth, apple cider vinegar, continuously whisk until mixture thickens

  2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer to marry the flavors

Make individual enchilada or enchilada casserole and cover with this delicious enchilada sauce. Enjoy!
