"Heidi's Gourmet Spiced Nuts"

Makes 1 pound (You can double, even triple this recipe).

Ingredients:


1 egg white


1 teaspoon cold water


½ pound pecans


½ pound walnuts


½ cup sugar


¼ teaspoon salt


¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg


½ teaspoon ground cinnamon


¼ teaspoon ground cloves


Optional: ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Directions:

• Preheat oven to 225 degrees. • Beat egg white until frothy, but not stiff. • Add nuts until completely coated. • Beat egg white until frothy, but not stiff. • Add nuts until completely coated. • In a separate bowl, mix remaining ingredients (Sugar and spices). • Add mixture to nuts, stir until evenly coated. • Use parchment paper on baking sheet. • Pour nut mixture onto sheet. • Bake at 225 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. • Cool completely and serve.

Store in air-tight container.

Personalize as a gift using seasonal containers.
